Forgot to mention in the podcast that when a minor leak from the bathroom ceiling necessitated my husband and I changing rooms at the hotel, in the rush of re-packing, I inadvertently left a bag containing credit cards. One of the housekeeping staff, Linda, took time from her work to bring the bag to us in our new room. What a relief! We hadn't even missed it yet. Luxury is nice if that's a vacation priority, but for me, kind, thoughtful service of this type coupled with convenient access to culture is a travel smile promoter.
Historical researcher/storyteller, publisher, playwright, educator, cultural promoter, and global studies curriculum writer...varied aspects of the literary/cultural me. I am the founder of the Nana Tubman Honor in Ghana, whereby Nana Harriet Ross Tubman Davis was posthumously awarded Queen Motherhood status in Ghana, followed by a street naming and statue. (see my website for textual and graphic details of this herStory.) Enjoy the blog, the podcasts, the website, and particularly Life!
